A few randoms about me

A few random things about me...

Names. I love them. They're funny, interesting, some are so unique.
I started my baby name list when I was around 10 (i know, right... ridic!). Even though this list grew and changed subtsantially throughout the years, I had a blast hunting for baby names while I was pregnant. I really like finding out the meanings and where they originate. If I was a little more courageous I would have given my kids some craaaaaZy names.

A little funny about me and names.... I may never remember yours. If we met 16 years ago, I probably remember I met you once. And if I could only remember your name I would totally smile, wave, and say "Hey, how's it goin?" Unfortunately, unless I use it on a daily basis, this is not the case, feel free to reintroduce yourself :).

You'd think for a girl who loved names I'd remember them more easily.

Driving. I am the kind of driver who, in rush hour traffic, will go all the way around the block to avoid having to make an incrediby annoying left hand turn. You know, the streetlights with no advanced green or rediculously set up parking lots. I know, it's totally lame, but this is me :) This isn't even a big city, yikes!

Beep!Beep!

I do know how to make a left hand turn in traffic, I'm just lazy like that.

Coffee. I. Must. Have it! An absolute necessity to my morning routine. I don't do mornings well, and this helps soooooo much :) Also enjoyable while chatting with besties.

...and while were on beverages

Wine. If I had money, I would have my own winery. Then I could enjoy a glass... anytime :) Ahhhhhh, that would be awesome. My wine buddy would never leave ♥

Vodka. A party must. It mixes well with just about anything. I have been know to do shots of lime vodka when there's nothing else left to drink. baaahaaahaa!

I do have a few others, but then this will become like the alcohol diaries or something... that would have been a clever blog name. Oh well...

Procrastination. If I could create a job out of this one, I would be a billionaire (I wouldn't be doin' too bad if I was paid everytime I had a coffee, or a drink either. hehe). In fact, as I am writing this, I'm supposed to be packing for a family vacation. We leave tomorrow. As of right now I have bug spray, sunscreen, swim bag, and LIFE checked off the list(all of the most important things). We are a family of five... ohhh my. Somehow I always manage to pull it together. Wish me luck... or ambition?

I think that's a good start. Ha! This is fun. I will probably post more of these. Later!

Adventures in Soccerland

I never thought I'd be one of those moms. Driving my van full of munchkins to sit for hours and watch little ones do their best (or not so best in some cases) to chase down a ball, turn it around and trip over their teammates, in an attempt to run back the other way and score, hopefully not in their own net. Hey, when your running and staring at the ground, it's easy for things to get turned around. Ahhhh, the soccer field.

Not that there is anything wrong with being a soccer/hockey/gymnast mom. I love hanging out and cheering them on. It's just totally out of my element. Being athletically challenged as a child I didn't play many sports, or watch them. Hubby, however, could only be more in his element if he was the one actually playing the sports.

This year Big Brother is 6 and Little Brother is 5. BB plays Friday nights, LB plays Saturday mornings, and Hubby coaches(both teams). So basically we spend the majority of our weekends baking in the sun on a giant treeless field. Seriously, 10 soccer feilds, not one tiny tree. BG and I hang out on the sidelines, cheering on the boys and waving at Daddy across the feild. Sometimes we rock and sing lulabys and nursery rhymes.... if we rock and sing long enough we often forget we're not in our own private bubble.

crazy face game

Last week I managed to lose BG (who, btw, is not this guy. Hey Happyhoursue! Sorry, I couldn't help it. I somehow read Bathtub Gangsta back to myself, instead of Baby Girl. Anyhow,....). A friend and I were chatting, while watching the game. Checking on the kiddies every few minutes. When BG and TG(TrickyGirl) went missing.

Now, these two have been besties since birth. They're like sister's, but they're not related. They love eachother, play awesome, but if someone gets mad, take cover, it's not going to be pretty. - is there a rule about how many commas one can place in a single sentence? just curious :) Needless to say, they get in a little trouble every once in awhile.

We checked all the other groups of children near us, in the grass around the field (these girls are so tiny, if they lie in the grass it's hard to see them). Can anyone guess where we found the two 3 year olds? Anyone?

YA! That's right, playing in the porta potty. Ewwwwwww!!! I couldn't even search through the pictures without gagging just a little. BG is facinated with this thing. Every time we go the field she suddenly has to go. These things have to be one of the grossest inventions ever!

So we brougt them back, and cleaned them up(they were fine, we just wanted to sterilize them in case of germs we couldn't see), and kept them very close for the rest of the game. How do you keep a 3 year old entertained at a soccer field for 2 hours? ...Any ideas?

.... p.s. this week at the soccer field I had a tiny real life Twilight experience. You know the cafeteria scene, with the apple? hmmmm...., my hubby, with a soccerball... ahhhh. He may not have a six pack or want to drain out all my blood, but I love him longgg time ;)

OMT

Oh My Twitter!

So I've been holding out, for awhile. I already have 4 email accounts(don't ask), messenger, facebook, and now am blogging. I do not need something else to have to check or update while online. Who needs one-liner updates on the lameness of my moment-to-moment existance anyhow?

Ugh, no one.

However, Peter Facinelli has this dare/contest thing going on with his buddy, so what could it hurt?

NO! I will not become the newest Twitterer? Tweeter?! (I have no idea)

So that lasted about 20 minutes. Until I was finished updating myself on all the latest Twi-related news.

Now I am officially Tweeting? Twiting? Arg!

My little sister sends me a f.b. message this afternoon proclaiming her new found lameness. 'I suck at life', the title reads. She wanted to let me know she joined Twitter, and I had to join too, so I could help Peter win his bet.

HAHA Little sister! I got you beat! Apparently, I suck at life more...

Feeling A Little Old Today

Do you ever feel old? Older than you are, I mean.

My Sweet Baby Girl turned 3 on Monday. Three! She is sooo not a baby anymore. She bosses around her older brothers, manipulates like crazy (or attempts to anyhow. I do remember how the game is played, it wasn't that long ago), frequently requests her nails be painted and her lip gloss be touched up(I know, I've created a monster)! She's not really that bad, but if I paint my nails or re-apply my lip gloss in front of her, I'll have to share. Which really is fine by me. It's nice to have someone to share girly time with.

Before BG (baby girl) was born I was starting to think I might go crazy with all the blue sports paraphernalia that began collecting throughout the house. I always wanted boys ( I grew up with two sisters, I've had enough drama to last me a lifetime) but after two, I was ready for some flowery pink stuff to start accumulating. I was having a harder time that I thought I would relating to the boys. Things just happened to work out perfectly. Our third and final baby was a girl!

Wow! Do I know how to off on a tangent or what?

So back to the feeling-older-than-I-really-am thing...

I guess having three kids at 26 makes me feel old sometimes(I know I'm not really old, at all). I have friends a few years older than me, no kids... sometimes life looks like so much fun for them. They have careers, travel, do whatever they want when they want. I was having babies while trying to get through college. Yes, I know, all of these babies are because of choices I made. I never really wanted to grow up to become a ...? Teacher? Nurse? Scientist? Astronaut? PB Bunny(hehe j/k, i figured while I was being rediculous...)? Anywho..., all I ever wanted to be was a momma. I think sometimes I just feel a little lost in all this laundry. I guess it's the whole 'grass is greener' thing. I really have everything I ever wanted.

In another 20 years my kids will be out of the house (they better be!), and I'll still be able to party. Woohoo! So I guess I'll be a little older, but feel a little younger. And I'll be able to reminisce(HAHA!) when visiting my friends who waited a little longer to start their families.

Now, back to that laundry.

I promise this will NOT become a Twilight Blog

I know there are people on both sides of the fence on this one... and maybe some on the fence. I stand on the side with all the crazy Twilighters.

I really had no idea what I was getting myself into. I had herd of Twilight when all the hype began about the movie, and I had no intention of seeing it or reading the saga. I LOVE vampires, always have. Went through a weird phase as a teenager when I wished I could actually become one ( and thats as far as we're gonna go with that train of thought. Ugh, high school). I could tell by all of the media hype I'd seen that these vampires were different, and I wasn't sure I liked that.

Then came that fateful evening in the video store. No more Slumdog Millionaire, no more Marley and Me, ... what are we going to watch? I called my sister:

"... they have Twilight?"

"Okay, sure."
Needless to say, we were left wanting more of this forbidden, passionate love story. As an avid reader I feel that the books are always better than the movies. So I ordered them and two days later I was reading.

Thank goodness my mom had the kids that week. I didn't do any of the things I was planning on getting done. No kids for an entire week! The things I could accomplish! ... enter Twilight.

My poor hubby... from the time I woke up in the morning until the time my sweet husband was waking for work the next morning, I was reading. And then when I finished I read them again.

I don't know how all of the fans from the beining waited for the next book, and then the next, ... and now the movies. November seems like an eternity away!

After reading the series twice in a row and watching the move a dozen times in a two week period. I needed to find new ways to get my fix. The internet is a wonderfully dangerous place. I found Kaleb, The
TwilightGuy, hilarious, smart and very talented. I also came acoss a couple other bloggers, Twilight Widowers Anonymous (very clever, this guy is funny!). For the last week it seems like everyone is at a standstill! I NEED new Twilight related information to distract me! It seems like the Twilight Lexicon is the only place to get new information. Of course they cover all things Twilight (thank goodness!).

So now they've released the New Moon trailer! Ahhhh! Finally! Every time I look at the computer I'm trying to negotiate a way to sit and watch it, just one more time. How am I going to make it 'till November?!

I'm sick, so sick. Is there a 12 Step program for Twilight addicts? Not that I'll use it, just curious.
